How to increase your #followfriday Twitter followers

Posted by Sulaiman Alhasawi on Jul 31, 2009 in #followfriday, Twitter

I have some thoughts on my topic How to increase Twitter followers Part 2 , which I explained how to use #followfriday technique to increase your Twitter followers. In order to get an effective and valuable tweet:

  1. Its better that you mention to your followers why they should follow the people who you follow .
  2. Another way to do it , is to categorize your Twitter following list into categories . Then when you suggest them you can mention who they are and what’s good about following them.
  3. You don’t have to dig and find your previous tweets on #followFriday  . I have found a nice tool that can list all your tweets on #followfriday. All you need to do  is to retweet your old tweets. You can find this tools in this link :

Monetizing Twitter ideas

Posted by Sulaiman Alhasawi on Jul 26, 2009 in Marketing, Twitter

I came across a good article written by Tweetbucks which lists the benefits of using Twitter for your business. I had written a similar article before, you can read it Twitter to follow or not !

According to Tweetbucks article,Twitter can help you :

  1. “People are looking for you” :which means people of similar interests as you can find you easily and thus increasing your profits and your exposure.
  2. “Bring traffic to your Site”
  3. ”Keep your customers informed”
  4. Put a face to the company name
  5. “Respond real-time to news.”
  6. “Find new opportunities.”

Tweetbucks

The reason I’m mentioning TweetBucks is that it uses these advantages and allows you to market your products using short links. I find this a leverage because people can share or retweet your links or your ideas while you are not available.

Keeping up2date with social media

Posted by Sulaiman Alhasawi on Jul 13, 2009 in Entrepreneur, Twitter

Im now at Bangor University’s computer lab in the UK. I dont have an internet connection at my new rented house , but I will soon. Checking out http://www.oneriot.com for the lastest topics about ‘entrepreneur’ , I saw a nice website : http://wefollow.com . Its a Twitter directory which helps you find followers. It categorizes popular tags in an easy order. It also lists top Twitter users. I added myself in its directory under ‘Entrepreneur’ , ‘startup’ and ‘web2′. Wefollow website is a social media search engine, which is in my opinion a great tool to help you meet new people in your niche and also keeps you up 2 date with the latest topics in Twitter. If you are wondering what Im doing at Bangor, send me a tweet .

SaaS and Startups

Posted by Sulaiman Alhasawi on Jul 9, 2009 in efouz, SaaS

eFouz.com blog is all about Entrepreneurship. Wether it is about tips , skills or tools. You can notice about my previous posts and reviewed tools is that I focused only on web-based tools or what they called clouds . There is another word for online tools which is: SAAS which stands for “Software as a Service”. Recently there have have been many startups and most of them provide the same SaaS-concept. I believe that cloud computing or using online tools, is much superior than using traditional softwares and I will explain why.
1- SaaS is much cheaper than a traditional software.
2- SaaS can be accessed online any time and from any where.
3- SaaS can shared by many users, which will increase productivity.
4- SaaS technical support is not a problem as its taken care of by the service provider.
5- In event of a crash, most SaaS vendors provide backup and alternate servers ready to be used immediately.
So Cloud computing will be a great , economic and powerfull technology for Entrepreneurs and startups.
Of course there are some concerns about trust and security. I think if the later aspects are taken seriously by the vendors , I dont see any reason why companies should not use such a technology.
